Section 1: Data Sufficiency

Answer 1:Either statement I alone or statement II alone is sufficient.

  • Explanation: To find the area of a circle, you only need the radius. Statement I gives the radius directly (7 cm). Statement II gives the diameter (14 cm), which can be easily divided by 2 to find the radius. Therefore, either statement on its own gives you the information needed to calculate the area.

Answer 2:Statement I alone is sufficient.

  • Explanation: * Statement I establishes this hierarchy: Ranga > Nagu > (Kishore and Srinivas). This clearly points to Ranga as the highest earner.
    • Statement II establishes: (Nagu and Ranga) > Kishore > Srinivas. This tells us Nagu and Ranga are at the top, but it does not tell us who earns more between the two of them.

Answer 3: Both statements together are sufficient (but neither is sufficient alone).

  • Explanation: * Statement I gives the percentages (borrowed 25%, returned 5% of that) but lacks a base value.
    • Statement II gives the base value (A's salary is $3000) but mentions nothing about P's debt.
    • Together, you can calculate the exact figures: P borrowed $750 (25% of 3000) and returned $37.50 (5% of 750), leaving $712.50 to be repaid.

Section 2: Direction Sense

Answer 4:North

  • Explanation: Rachel starts facing South. A 90° left turn puts her facing East. A second 90° left turn puts her facing North.

Answer 5:North

  • Explanation: Susan starts facing East. A 180° turn means she does a complete about-face and is now facing West. From the West, a 90° turn to her right puts her facing North.

Section 3: Blood Relations

Answer 6: Sister

  • Explanation: A3 and C3 share the same sibling (B3). Since the prompt specifies that A3 is a "sister" (meaning A3 is female), A3 is the sister to all her siblings, including C3.

Answer 7: Mother

  • Explanation: T3 and U3 are siblings (brothers/sisters). Since S3 is the mother of T3, S3 must also be the mother of T3's brother, U3.

Answer 8: Sister-in-law

  • Explanation: A1 and D1 are the father and mother of B1, making them husband and wife. C1 is A1's brother, making C1 the brother-in-law of D1. Since E1 is married to C1, E1 is the wife of D1's brother-in-law, which makes E1 and D1 sisters-in-law.

Answer 9: Granddaughter

  • Explanation: U1 and W1 are siblings, and V1 is their parent. W1 is married to X1, making X1 the daughter-in-law of V1. Since Y1 is the daughter of W1 and X1, Y1 is the child of V1's son, making her V1's granddaughter.
